BPPV occurs when tiny calcium crystals become displaced within the inner ear, causing brief episodes of dizziness with certain head movements. Particle repositioning manoeuvres use guided head and body movements to return these crystals to their proper position and relieve symptoms. At Dizzyology, treatment is provided during your assessment, with shorter review appointments available if BPPV recurs.
Vestibular rehabilitation is a personalised exercise program that helps reduce dizziness, improve balance, and support the brain's adaptation to inner ear or balance disorders. It uses targeted eye, head, and balance exercises tailored to your symptoms. Dizzyology can assess whether vestibular rehabilitation is appropriate for you and arrange referral to trusted rehabilitation providers when needed.
Dizzyology can assess your symptoms and test results to help determine whether referral to a medical specialist is appropriate. Depending on your needs, this may include a neuro-otologist, neurologist, or ENT specialist. Recommendations are provided to your GP in your report, supporting further investigation, diagnosis, and treatment where required.
Migraine can be a common cause of dizziness and balance symptoms. Dizzyology can assess whether migraine is contributing to your presentation and provide education on lifestyle factors, trigger management, and evidence-based treatment options. Where appropriate, we can recommend vestibular rehabilitation and facilitate referral to your GP or a medical specialist for ongoing migraine management.
Many dizziness and vertigo conditions can be improved with simple lifestyle changes and practical symptom management strategies. Dizzyology provides personalised education and advice on factors such as hydration, sleep, physical activity, stress management, and pacing, along with strategies to reduce symptom triggers and improve confidence in daily activities as part of your overall management plan.
